Selected Project Assignments

Advised a major Canadian transportation company and valued the company's customer, favorable contract, software, and trademark intangibles and assisted in the valuation of its fleet and terminal assets. Ott & Associates also advised the company on the assessment its fair value and goodwill impairment analysis for financial reporting purposes under Canadian GAAP.

Following a transaction by a US Private Equity purchaser, worked with management of an entertainment production company to define and value their intangible assets under IFRS.

Valued several companies in the Canadian health-care sector to assist their shareholders with succession planning.

Advised Canadian regulators and assessed information on the valuation of intangible assets. 

For numerous Canadian and US-based public and private companies, valued a range of acquired intangible assets, including software, technology, customer relationships and contracts, brands, artistic content, broadcast licences, non-compete, favorable contract and assembled workforce.

In an IPO transaction, valued a medical device manufacturer's research and development assets.

Provided a fairness opinion of a software company providing loan origination and credit risk decision support tools to the financial services industry.

Reported to Ontario's Ministry of Finance on valuation methodologies to be employed by Municipal Electric Utilities.

Worked with shareholders of a private engineering firm to establish valuation guidance of respective ownership interests.

Advised an internet publishing company on the valuation of intangible assets acquired in two acquisition transactions.
