Also advised the company on the assessment its fair value and goodwill impairment analysis for financial reporting purposes under Canadian GAAP.
Assisted both the Canada Revenue Agency and the Ontario Securities Commission to review and assess information on the valuation of intangible assets.
For a number of Canadian and US-based public and private companies, valued a range of acquired intangible assets, including software, technology, customer relationships and contracts, brands, artistic content, broadcast licences, non-compete, favourable contract and assembled workforce.
For a leading Canadian music company undertaking an income trust transaction, valued the entity’s key intangible assets, including customer base, music library and brands.
In an IPO transaction, valued a medical device manufacturer’s research and development assets.
Reported to Ontario’s Ministry of Finance on appropriate valuation methodologies to be employed by Municipal Electric Utilities.
At a large telecommunications company helped define their approach to intangible asset and IP management. Also assisted the company to spin off its customer service field forces into a separate venture capital-owned organization.
Assisted a US-based biotech company to file regulatory drug pricing information to gain approval to market a new drug product in Canada.
Working with the CEO of a venture capital corporation, outsourced all sales, marketing and investor and dealer services.
Helped a nutritional scientist to negotiate a licensing arrangement with a global consumer products (food) company.
Overall Program Manager responsible for the initial phase of the integration of six electric distribution utilities in the Toronto area.
Managed the process by which an Ontario-based Regional Municipality selected a private partner to develop a long-term (35 year) water supply strategy.
Assisted a government tax authority and a securities regulator on the assessment of the value of software and brand intangibles.
Advised an internet publishing company on the valuation of intangible assets acquired in two acquisition transactions.
At a large Canadian TV and Radio Broadcaster, developed and implemented a support strategy for an enterprise-wide IT application, including planning transition and negotiation of IT support arrangements.
